💙 This Friday, April 10th, Wear Blue for Child Abuse Prevention Month

Wear blue to show your support and help raise awareness for the protection and well-being of children across our community. This simple act is a powerful way to stand together for a cause that impacts so many young lives.

At Decatur County Schools, caring for our students goes beyond the classroom. It’s a shared commitment we hold as a community.

We had a great time celebrating National Bubbles Week at West Bainbridge Primary!

Our students joined the school counselor for a special Bubble Day, where they learned how bubbles can help us manage big feelings—like taking deep breaths, slowing down, and finding calm when emotions feel overwhelming. After the lesson, students enjoyed hands-on fun with bubbles and sidewalk chalk, practicing those calming strategies while playing and creating!

It was the perfect mix of social-emotional learning and joyful play, and our Wildcats did an amazing job learning new ways to take care of their feelings.

Our Wildcats were busy learning and creating in the library this week!

Students rotated through three hands-on stations, each packed with fun and purpose.
At our 🌪️ Wild Weather VR station, students explored storms and weather in an immersive way, helping build background knowledge and deepen understanding of science concepts through real-world connections.
Over at 🎨 Sketch & Color, students followed a directed drawing to create a kite for our windy March days—this activity strengthened listening skills, boosted confidence, and supported fine motor development as they carefully followed each step.
At our 🔖 Bookmark station, students colored their own bookmarks to be laminated as keepsakes, giving them a chance to practice creativity and focus while also creating something meaningful they can use during reading time.

We love combining creativity, technology, and skill-building to make learning come alive in our library!
